LED light therapy
What is LED light therapy?
LED light therapy is a skincare treatment that uses varying wavelengths of light. NASA originally developed it for plant growth experiments on shuttle missions and later found it to have promise for wound-healing. Today, LED light therapy is widely used by aestheticians to help regenerate skin from signs of aging, as well as for acne – with each color having its own benefit. Unlike other types of light therapy, LED lights do not contain ultraviolet rays, and therefore are safe for regular use. When used over time, the therapy can improve your skin.
How does it work?
Just like plants use chlorophyll to turn sunlight into energy, humans use different wavelength colors to cause natural reactions within the skin. Each color penetrates the skin at various depths, creating a different effect. UFO™ devices have full-spectrum LED light, meaning there are a multitude of colors that are combined in different ways to optimize your treatments.
LED light therapy
-
Red LED
Stimulates the production of collagen and elastin to firm and lift skin. Diminishes fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of aging.
-
Blue LED
Minimizes imperfections, destroys P. acnes bacteria to stop breakouts, and mitigates inflamed acne and nasty lesions.
-
Green LED
Evens out skin tone, brightens dull complexion, and softens age spots. Helps with dark circles and other discoloration.
-
White LED
Reaches deeper into the skin than any other color. Tightens the skin, reduces puffiness, and activates natural renewal.
-
Purple LED
A combination of red and blue light that helps eliminate toxins, boost radiance, and pacify inflammation.
-
Orange LED
Eases sun damage and revitalizes skin for a natural, healthy glow.
-
Yellow LED
Soothes sunburn, softens rosacea, combats swelling, and improves overall skin tone.
-
Cyan LED
An anti-inflammatory light that calms stressed-out skin. Promotes healing, blocks pain, and reduces the size of swollen capillaries.
Near-infrared light therapy
Near-infrared (NIR) is a type of light used for its natural healing benefits. Even though it’s just outside the visible spectrum of light, it has important applications in our everyday lives. NIR doesn’t just treat symptoms – it deals with inflammation as well. By boosting cellular energy, it widens blood vessels to cleanse and repair tissue affected by inflammation. It contributes to more elastin and collagen to support the qualities of youthful skin. In addition to that, it supports injury recovery, promoting healing as it repairs minor muscle and tissue concerns.
Helps with hair loss
Red LED light therapy is a safe, effective, and natural treatment option for hair loss. Backed by a strong base of peer-reviewed clinical research, red light treatments have increased hair count, hair density, and hair thickness for male and female pattern-baldness alike.
How does it work?
Red LED delivers safe, concentrated wavelengths of natural light to your skin, with no chemicals, UV rays, or excess heat. These wavelengths of light stimulate the mitochondria in your cells similar to natural sunlight.
Making energy more efficiently throughout your body improves physical function, speeds the healing process, and lowers inflammation, as demonstrated in numerous peer-reviewed studies. It also has a major stimulating effect on the dermal papilla cells, which play a big role in the regulation of hair cycling and growth.
