How To Wear Green Without Looking Like a Leprechaun

Green is the new black.   Wherever you are in the world over St. Patrick’s Day weekend, there’s no escaping the sea of green that is sure to be taking over the streets. Whether you’re getting involved in the Irish-themed fun or just trying to add some green into your wardrobe, this definitive style guide will get you there. Follow along below and give green a chance!

50 Shades of Green

The classic green color that comes to mind for this particular holiday is a bit gaudy and not the most flattering color for all skin tones. When choosing an outfit, make sure to sport a shade of green that will complement your skin tone (think jade green for lighter skin, emerald for darker skin and green moss and fern for olive skin) and the rest of your outfit.

Less is More

When trying to incorporate any piece of color into your wardrobe, it’s important to not overdo it. If you’re interested in giving a bold shade of green a whirl, give yourself one pop of color and keep the rest of your outfit subdued and minimal. For example, try pairing emerald green pants with a white top and intricate belt. Or, in rare cases, two pops of color in your outfit such as this, look quite chic as well!

Green Can Be Classy

If you’re having a classy St. Patty’s celebration this year, instead of full green on green, wear a one-piece (and no we don’t mean a one-piece bathing suit.) Opting for a casual green romper or jumpsuit is the perfect way to keep it trendy and on-theme.

When in Doubt, Wear Olive

Maybe we’re bias, but out of the whole green family, olive is clearly the best color. It looks great on everyone and is neutral enough to match perfectly with denim. If you’re not a fan of bright green, or are slowly working green into your wardrobe, olive is the way to go.

Green can be classy as shown in this blog, you can pair a green top with denim for a complete look. Do not need to be overdressed just add some green color such as a hat, shades, bangles or earrings to match with your outfit.
