Drenched & Dewy: My Week with H2Overdose

Dive in, y’all. Even during the hot, sweaty summer months, my skin is ‘just-stepped-off-a-12-hour-flight’ dry. I try my best to drink enough water and hydrate from within, but my skin still needs a bit of outside help. My daily skincare routine includes a lightweight moisturizer and my favorite SPF daily, with the occasional hydrating mask. And that seems to work - for a while.   But I can tell my skin is always thirsty for more, and I just can’t be asked with ooey, gooey, heavy duty face oils and creams - they somehow always end up in my fine, thin hair and make it look like I haven’t showered in 6 weeks.

So what’s a girl to do for an extra boost of hydrating goodness? Enter FOREO UFO and the new H2Overdose mask.

Day 1

Sure, seeing is believing, but I’m more of a facts-and-figures kind of person. So I decided to use LUNA fofo’s skin sensor technology to measure the hydration levels in my skin over the course of the week. As expected, low moisture in all areas of the face - womp, womp.  

Days 2-4

There’s a bit of a learning curve going from using masks once a week to every day, but it’s easy to squeeze in a 2-minute treat with UFO’s Hyper-Infusion Technology. Afterwards, my skin is instantly softer, smoother and more hydrated. Plus, every time I take out a mask, the name makes me giggle - I like the idea of my skin getting drunk on hyaluronic acid.  

Days 5-6

You know how sometimes you’re super thirsty but you can only fit so much water in your stomach so it takes a while to re-hydrate? That’s kind of what my skin feels like. It’s taken a few days, but I’m finally seeing significant improvement and skin that’s well-hydrated even after staring at a computer screen for 8 hours.  

Day 7

The moment of truth. I won’t lie and say I jumped out of bed to take my final LUNA fofo skin reading, but I definitely moved at a quicker pace than can normally be expected before 9 am. With a few quick taps on my phone, I was in the FOREO app and ready to see the results of all my masking efforts. Drumroll please....   After a full week of the hyaluronic goodness of H2Overdose, my moisture levels were up across the board. But, I was surprised to see that my right cheek was still low on hydration - maybe because I sleep on that side? Time to look into a silk pillowcase...
