DIY Grooming: How To Make Your Own Beard Oil

Your beard just got a whole lot better. With winter on the horizon, beards are sure to be making a comeback in the near future. If you’re planning on growing out your scruff or maintaining a blissful beard, it’s time to jump on the beard oil bandwagon. Beard oil is essential for maintaining facial hair as it moisturizes the hair and skin in order to achieve a beard that is shiny and groomed -rather than flaky or shaggy. To upkeep a beautiful beard, beard oil should be applied once every day, ideally first thing in the morning after showering or cleansing. Now, you could easily go out and spend $10-20 dollars on a 1-2oz bottle of this magical oil, but where is the fun in that? With our DIY guide below, you can make your own beard oil and reap the rewards.  

What You’ll Need

1oz bottle Mini measuring cup or shot glass A small funnel Carrier Oils Essential Oils  

DIY Beard Oil Ingredients

½ ounce Argan Oil ¼ ounce Jojoba Oil ¼ ounce Sweet Almond Oil 5 Drops Rosemary Essential Oil 3 Drops Cedarwood Essential Oil  

Instructions

  1. Take a 1oz bottle and place a small funnel inside the opening of the bottle.
  2. Pour the allocated amount of each carrier oil into the bottle through the funnel.
  3. Put the designated amount of drops of each essential oil inside the bottle.
  4. Remove the funnel from the bottle and gently swirl the ingredients together.
 

How to apply Beard Oil

Depending on your beard length, put 3-5 drops of your freshly mixed beard oil in the palm of your hand and rub all over beard. Once the oil has been applied, use your fingertips to massage the oil into the skin below. Finally, use a small comb to smooth down the beard.   Happy Grooming!
