5 Secrets to a Clean and Organized Home

Get rid of clutter and dirt in 5 simple steps. Keeping your home clean and clutter free is no easy venture. However there are ways to make this difficult task a little easier. Picking the right tools or establishing a routine could be game-changers!

1. Find The Right Tools

If you live in a small apartment a handheld vacuum cleaner might be a lifesaver. In a bigger home it might not help at all. There are no perfect cleaning products (unless we’re talking about facial cleansing). It all depends on the size of your home and the surfaces that prevail. Different tools work for different homes. Experiment with different products until you find the ones that work best for you When it comes to cleaning your home, having the right tools is essential. Whether you live in a small apartment or a large house, there are plenty of different tools and products to help you get the job done quickly and easily. Some of the most popular options include handheld vacuum cleaners, mops, sponges, and various cleaning sprays. Depending on the size of your home and the types of surfaces you have to clean, you might need to use different products in different areas. For example, a handheld vacuum cleaner might be perfect for cleaning up small messes in a small apartment, but it might not be as effective in a larger home. No matter what type of home you have, there are plenty of different tools and products available to help you keep it clean. With a little bit of trial and error, you're sure to find the perfect solution.

2. Catch the clutter

It’s so easy to create collections of things lying about in an untidy state. We just wish it was as easy to get rid of them. Let us present an innovative way to catch your clutter in one spot - clutter catchers. It’s a revolutionary idea in staying organized. Think about all the places that get cluttered up the easiest. Maybe it’s your bedroom, full of clothes you’re not sure where to put. Firstly, get a stylish basket. Secondly, place it in the corner of the room. Thirdly, let it do its job - catch-all that clothes, pillows, toys, and other paraphernalia. Watch as your bedroom transforms into tidy heaven Another useful place for a clutter catcher is by your entrance - for keys, documents, mail and other things we leave in mysterious places. What about a small clutter catcher in a bathroom drawer? Or a big one in a closet or an attic? Might make your life tidier!

3. Create a routine

We’ve all heard this one before but it really works! Establishing a routine will keep your home looking neat in the long run. It can be as simple as dusting on Mondays, laundry on Tuesdays, floors on Wednesdays, the bathroom on Thursdays, and the kitchen on Fridays. Take the weekends off - you deserve it! [caption id="attachment_12290" align="aligncenter" width="802"] If you have kids, designate specific tasks for them to do each day. Not only will this lessen your load, but it will also teach them responsibility and good habits.[/caption] If you have kids, designate specific tasks for them to do each day. Not only will this lessen your load, but it will also teach them responsibility and good habits. Put a chart on the fridge or somewhere visible and check off each task as it’s completed. Make it fun by offering a small reward for a job well done!

4. Get rid of unnecessary things

In the words of the great Marie Kondo herself - if it doesn’t spark joy, let it go. Most of our mess is created by the things we don’t need in the first place. Why overwhelm your closet with clothes you haven’t worn in years? What about that badminton set lying underneath your sofa? Getting rid of everything you don’t use will make your (cleaning) life so much easier! There are a few strategies that you can use to purge unnecessary things from your home. One is to go room by room and take an inventory of everything in that space. Ask yourself whether each item brings you joy or not, and be honest with yourself about what needs to go. Another strategy is to set aside a specific time every month or so to go through your things and get rid of anything that’s no longer serving a purpose. Once you’ve decided what needs to go, it’s time to figure out how to get rid of it. If you have items that are in good condition, you can donate them to a local charity or thrift store. For things that are broken or no longer useful, you may want to try selling them online or holding a yard sale. You can also consider recycling your items if they’re not worth much on the secondhand market. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUXtsSs2SKk

5. Make cleaning a happy event

It might seem impossible but there are ways to improve the torture we call cleaning. Find your groove. Spice things up by incorporating something you love into your routine. Most importantly, reward yourself afterward. Blast the music loud, dance around while you clean and finish everything off with a favorite snack!  Maybe you need to get hyped up with some music or a podcast, or maybe you prefer complete silence. Find something that gets you in the zone and stick with it. Cleaning doesn't have to be a drag. If you find the right techniques that work for you, it can actually be enjoyable. So put on your favorite tunes, get out the cleaning supplies and get to work! You might just surprise yourself with how much fun you have.

Treat yourself with some FOREO devices!
