Green Tea: Loved By Tea Drinkers & Skincare Enthusiasts

Digging deeper into what makes this tea so great You might have already noticed that when it comes to health and skincare, Green tea seems to be a name that pops up rather frequently. I used to just take it as a given: green tea is good for you. But I never knew exactly why… until now. Green tea is created from the Tea plant (scientifically known as Camellia sinensis), which is a native plant to China. Producing it's recognizably sweet and subtle scent, it's no wonder that it is enjoyed by so many people. However, Green tea has much more to offer than just a nice taste.

I’ll Drink To That

Furthermore, it’s rich in antioxidants and polyphenols, which all play their part in doing good for your body and mind.  When looking at some specific health benefits, we can say that it has been noticed to improve mood, increase alertness, improve memory and even reaction time. Unlike coffee, green tea can give you a milder dose of caffeine and results in people reporting a more stable increase in energy.  Another great aspect of Green tea is its ability to speed up your metabolism. However, if you want to get any of the many health benefits of Green tea, it’s best to incorporate it into your diet over an extended period of time and not just in brief and extreme intervals, like in detox programs (which do more harm to your body than good).

Your skincare friend

In fact, using any skincare products infused with Green tea can leave your skin looking way better Firstly, it has an amazing calming effect, which can help soothe irritated skin and inflammation (aka acne). In addition to this, it helps protect and repairs skin cells, thus leaving your skin looking younger and way more toned. The antimicrobial properties of Green tea make it ideal for treating acne and helping prevent breakouts, while the presence of polyphenols works to reduce the production of sebum, leaving your skin less oily and more glowy.  All of that topped off with nourishing Vitamin E and your skin is going to be looking its best ever.
