Why do you have to read “Reasons to Stay Alive” by Matt Haig?
This book is full of reasons to stay alive. It's funny, it's sad, it's real, and it will make you think about life in a whole new way. If you're struggling with mental health issues, this book will give you hope. If you're not struggling with mental health issues, "Reasons to Stay Alive" will still give you reasons why should you be grateful for every little thing you have in your life.
"Reasons to Stay Alive" is for everyone
"Reasons to Stay Alive" is a book based on the author's experiences of living with depression and anxiety disorder, which he suffered from the age of 24. It will be a great choice for you even though you are not fighting depression. Namely, it will show you how to find reasons to be grateful for your life, even on the darkest days. It's both heart-wrenching and uplifting. You will laugh, cry, and think about life in a whole new way. But, please bear in mind that "Reasons to Stay Alive" is not a self-help book as that term is commonly understood. This is an author's individual and creative response to the dark period of his life. Still, it is more than helpful when it comes to giving hope to readers, which is why "Reasons to Stay Alive" is your "must-read" if you are going through some rough times.
What do others have to say about it?
This book is something that will help many of us understand and recognize what many people go through on a daily basis, how they overcome their problems, and how we can behave and be empathetic towards them. "Reasons to Stay Alive" is an absolute must-read for someone going through a rough time as the author has beautifully and clearly put his feelings into words which makes one feel heard.

"Reasons to Stay Alive" was an interesting memoir. While I was slow to engage with the author and the author's life, by the end I felt an incredible affection and could understand why his wife was so loyal. I enjoyed his laid-back humour, self-deprecation, and his clear communication and honesty about what it is like for him to live with anxiety and depression. Also, I enjoyed his discussing the books he enjoyed. I think there is also potentially a lot of benefits this book offers to others who suffer from anxiety and depression. Stay with this book. Highly recommend! One of the best books I've ever read. An emotional rollercoaster with a philosophical plot. Haig captured the essence of living the only life we have, to truly live and be free with no regrets. No matter how things look, another perspective is all that is needed. A breath of fresh air. A MUST-READ!
