Dr. Raj Arora shares her thoughts on everything from natural ingredients in skincare to our very own Farm to Face collection. We finally restocked our beloved Farm to Face collection! To celebrate this happy event, we sat down with dr. Arora and had a little chat about the ingredients, masks themselves and everything in between.

1. What is your favorite aspect of the Farm To Face range?

My favorite thing about the Farm to Face range is that it brings natural ingredients to a savvy smart device to ensure great delivery of rejuvenation. I love the green tea mask - it’s my favorite. It really helps de-puff the undereye area and soothe the skin.

2. Are natural ingredients powerful in skincare? Do they work?

It really depends on the specific ingredients and the way they're delivered. I do believe that applying natural ingredients straight to the face can sometimes cause irritation and sensitivity. This is why I love the Farm to Face range, as all the powerful (backed by science) ingredients have been infused into this wonderful sheet mask; perfectly powered skincare - ready to use, and with the risk of sensitivity completely reduced!

3. Which mask from the Farm to Face collection works best for acne-prone skin and why?

Manuka Honey! It has great anti-bacterial & anti-inflammatory properties. This means that it can really calm down red, inflamed skin. It contains two antimicrobial compounds - hydrogen peroxide and methylglyoxal. These help keep acne-causing bacteria at bay! It’s also a great humectant, meaning it draws water in to help keep the skin moisturized!

4. How do each mask's ingredients in the Farm to Face collection stack up against the other masks on the market and how much more effective they are with the associated treatments that the UFO provides?

Other masks in the market are sheet masks that you place on your face for a set time and then remove! The difference between those and the FOREO masks is that the ingredients in the Farm to Face range are delivered through the amazing UFO device. There is nothing else quite like it on the market! The UFO device does a lot more than just deliver the ingredients of the sheet mask, it also delivers T-sonic pulsations, warm light therapy and cooling cryotherapy. Moreover, it emits LED lights (blue, red & green). These features are very beneficial for the skin. The light therapy also helps the skin to heal and stimulates collagen. Additionally, it helps kill acne bacteria on the surface of the skin and works to fight blemishes. The cooling features helps soothe and tone the skin after the treatment. The T-sonic pulsations massage the face allowing for a relaxing facial but they also help deliver the product into the skin. It’s not just a face mask - it’s an entire facial and that’s why I prefer it to the standard sheet masks on the market!

5. What is the benefit of using different LED light therapy with different ingredients for the skin?

Red light therapy is collagen-inducing and therefore has anti-aging properties and also wound healing properties so this would work well on inflamed skin or as a nice finish to the end of any sheet mask. Blue light therapy helps to kill p.acnes, the acne-causing bacteria. Using this particular feature with the manuka honey mask would really help heal from painful acne and red, inflamed areas. Green light therapy works towards busting blemishes on the skin, so any of the brightening masks would work well with this. The different LED therapies can be used one after the other with the same sheet mask if desired! The UFO device can be programmed to your own personal preferences and duration can be increased or decreased as desired too! UFO LED Light Therapy device

6. Does cryotherapy work better with certain ingredients and does thermotherapy work better with certain ingredients?

Cryotherapy has anti-inflammatory effects on the skin. Some research has shown that it may help certain skin conditions like eczema due to its anti-inflammatory effect. It can also help to reduce pore size, accelerate exfoliation, and reduce sebum production (for those with oily skin!). Combining these properties of cryotherapy with some of the Farm to Face mask ingredients can result in real skin rejuvenation. For example, using the cannabis seed oil mask and combining it with the cryo features can really help boost results. The cannabis seed oil mask targets sensitive and oily skin. It has both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties! Combining this with the cooling feature on the UFO can help to reduce redness and inflammation.   Have you tried any masks from our Farm to Face collection? What are your thoughts? If not, which one would you like to try and why? Share your opinions in the comments!

Thanks, Regina for your post! The masks mentioned along with the Bulgarian Rose would help to soothe your dry skin with their properties but as this might be a medical condition it's always best to talk to your dermatologist to see if this would be suitable. Also, we would not recommend the use if you have broken, active and weepy skin as this can cause infection. We truly hope you get back to your happy self and enjoy the benefits that the UFO Masks have to offer.
